11:30a Kick-off Luncheon Keynote Speaker: Robert Woodson, Sr - Founder of The Center for Neighborhood Enterprise. Our special guest presenters are Dr. Elba Garcia, Mayor Pro Tem  District 1, Dallas, Texas and Chief Floyd Simpson, Dallas Police Department. 

General Discussion #1: Conversations with Youth

Hear the stories of youth that are involved in youth violence prevention and youth that have been directly affected by youth violence.

General Session #2: Beyond Race
2:30 p
Panel discussion on race relations as it relates youth violence. Panel participants include community leaders and organizational representatives; reformed gang leaders; and former heads of crime families.; and organizations that share a like mission of stopping youth violence and changing youth culture.

 

General Session Panelists: 
Rebecca Thomas Cox: Superintendent of the Texas Youth Commission.
Todd & Lance Feurtado: Motivational speakers and ex-drug king pins and ex-gang members in New York City.

Rev. Billy Stanfield: Founder and ED of New Vision Youth Services, Inc., Baltimore, Maryland.
Bruce George: Activist, writer, consultant, Co-Founder of HBO Def Poetry Jam, Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Byron Austin: Founder of Save The Youth, Milwaukee, WI
Antong Lucky: Program Director for Vision Regeneration, and reformed gang leader (founder of Bloods street gang in Dallas, TX).

Recognition Dinner and Fashion Show - 7:00p

Recognition Dinner: Recognition and development of community-based partnerships dedicated to preventing youth violence. Nate Newton will be the recepient of The "Comeback Award" and The Community Kaleidoscope Award will be presented to J. McDonald Williams, retired chairman of Trammell Crow Co. and founder of the Foundation for Community Empowerment.  Also receiving the award will be football legend, Deion Sanders, for his support of and involvement in Vision Regeneration.


Fashion Show: Immediately following the Recognition Dinner, join us for a fundraiser fashion show hosted by Deion Sanders and coordinated by his wife, Pilar Sanders entitled "A Celebration of Positive Urban and Youth Culture".  This wrap-up event, in partnership with Bank of America and VR Inc., will serve as a motivational event for the youth that will participate in the show, and it will be a positive environment for developing and fostering relationship with community leaders, business owners, organizational representatives and supporters of the Vision Regeneration mission.
